Global Citizens Festival 2012
On September 29, 2012, more than 60,000 people attended the first Global Citizen Festival on the Great Lawn in New York’s iconic Central Park. The Festival featured live performances by Neil Young with Crazy Horse, Foo Fighters, The Black Keys, Band of Horses, K’Naan and more. Leading broadcast sponsor Australian technology company, Vividas, along with online distribution partners including VEVO, YouTube, AOL/ Huffington Post, Yahoo!, VH1.com, and NYTimes.com were all on board to stream the event live. In addition, television partners AXS TV Palladia, Globo Brazil, and Fuse carried live program as well. The Festival was a live entertainment event where tickets were accessed through points earned by taking action against extreme poverty, such as signing petitions and sharing information, on behalf of the Global Citizen partners. This concert is timed to coincide with the UN Summit to raise awareness and leverage government aid. AEG Network LIVE was proud to provide end-to-end streaming services of HD content and audio quality from Central Park in NYC to a worldwide audience. Network LIVE also provided live event analytics and post event reporting as well as audience interaction components. This event marks another global milestone for AEG Network LIVE, who produced the entire event.
